Overview:

Due to growth within the Swindon office, we are recruiting for a Tax Senior to assist the Partners in delivery of all corporate, personal tax and payroll services. The role will predominantly involve oversight of the tax compliance functions, and reviewing work of the team, however some processing work will be required. There are strong prospects of progression for this role.

The Tax Senior duties will be:

  • Responsibility for oversight of all tax compliance work for the Practice
  • Corporation tax, Personal, trust and partnership tax
  • Payroll and reporting to the Managers & Partners
  • Preparing and reviewing corporation tax returns and business tax computations including supporting analysis
  • Personal tax returns for individuals, partnerships and trusts
  • Reviewing payroll and associated calculations
  • Taking the lead and assisting on tax assignments
  • Supervising, delegating and reviewing tax and payroll work of juniors
  • Delivering information and communicate with clients in a timely and effective manner
  • Assisting the Managers and Partners on ad-hoc project work

Qualifications:

  • CTA qualified/part-qualified with at least 3 years of practice experience at a senior level (qualification by experience will be considered)

The Tax Senior will have the following attributes and skills: *

  • Ability to multitask and prioritise a number of jobs, whilst demonstrating excellent time management skills to ensure all deadlines and expectations are met
  • Experience leading on tax compliance
  • Display strong technical knowledge of corporation tax, income tax, capital gains tax and payroll
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail
  • Display commercial awareness
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good experience using a variety of bookkeeping software, including cloud-based platforms such as Sage, QuickBooks and Xero.
  • Experience using CCH, BrightPay and MyWorkPapers is preferred but is not essential
