We are currently seeking a dedicated Caretaker to join our team, ensuring that both the internal and external facilities of our learning campus are functional, secure, compliant with health and safety standards, and aesthetically pleasing. This role requires immediate start and offers a path to permanent employment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Ensure the security integrity of the school buildings and grounds through locking/unlocking procedures, patrols, and monitoring third-party lettings.
  • Perform daily duties such as litter picking, sweeping, and refreshing toilets according to the daily schedule.
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks as per the school's schedule, tailored to individual skills.
  • Provide access and assistance to service providers for on-site remedial work or maintenance.
  • Conduct minor repairs and decoration works as needed.
  • Participate in cleaning and deep cleaning activities as required.
  • Proactively identify and address facility deficiencies, either rectifying them directly or reporting them to management.
  • Investigate reactive requests, perform temporary or permanent repairs, or escalate to management as necessary.
  • Respond to emergencies, such as floods or bodily fluid spills, and take appropriate action.
  • Handle requests for parcel collection, furniture movement, and room rearrangement.
  • Perform daily visual checks of building management systems, boilers, and hot water systems.
  • Conduct monthly pest inspections and weekly checks and clearances of drains and gullies.
  • Ensure proper setup of rooms and assemblies as per the schedule and enforce visitor badge policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in caretaking or facilities management, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks and handle emergency situations effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive in identifying and solving problems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
