1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant / KS2 Learning Support Assistant - SN4

Are you passionate about making a real difference in a child’s life? My client is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 pupil with special educational needs. This role offers an exciting opportunity to positively impact the child’s learning journey while working closely with a supportive school community and SENDCO. This role is available on a fixed-term contract working Monday to Friday with hours of 9-1.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing 1:1 support to a KS2 pupil, ensuring their safety and engagement throughout the school day.
  • Building a strong rapport with the child and supporting them in managing challenging behaviours.
  • Designing and delivering creative, engaging activities aligned with the child’s needs and school topics.
  • Collaborating with the KS2 team, SENDCO, and external professionals to follow best practices and adapt strategies.
  • Modelling effective communication and desired behaviours in a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Communicating with parents/carers and staff to ensure holistic support for the pupil.

About You

  • Be able to do the job as described.
  • Experienced in working with children with social and communication needs or SEND.
  • Calm, patient, and confident in handling challenging or avoidant behaviours.
  • Reflective, enthusiastic, and eager to try innovative ideas to support learning.
  • Committed to the school’s Christian values and willing to undertake relevant training to enhance your skills.
