We have an opportunity available for an IT 2nd Line Engineer to join our client's team based in Swindon. You will join on a full time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £31,000.00 - £37,000.00 per annum depending on experience alongside a great range of benefits, including:

About the role:

As a IT 2nd Line Engineer, reporting to the IT Operations Manager and working with an office-based team, you will be the first point of contact for the IT user community for any IT-related issues, problems, incidents or requests. Your primary focus will be on delivering excellent IT Support services to the user community, having a willingness to learn, grow and share knowledge to ensure that the team provides service excellence to the user community.

Your key responsibilities as a IT 2nd Line Engineer will include:

•Assess, troubleshoot and resolve all end user computing issues using known troubleshooting methodologies.

•Help to develop processes and methods of operating that confirm to ITIL disciplines.

•Work from or travel to company sites to provide extended end user computing services to the user beyond that provided from our offices as required.

•Ensure that all work carried out for users is recorded in the in-house systems, that work is correctly attributed which enables us to accurately demonstrate performance of the service to the business units.

•Maintain a level of technical competence that remains current and fit for purpose and highlighting any training needs to the IT Operations Manager, while participating in training other members of the team to increase overall knowledge and competencies, improving the levels of service.

Technical knowledge of the following would be ideal -

•Windows Desktop 10 / 11.

•Windows Server 2016+, Virtual appliances, SQL Server.

•Microsoft Intune, Defender & 365.

•Networking - LAN, vLAN, WAN, Switches, Routers etc.

•Cloud Services - Azure, Email, Office and Third Party.

•Active Directory - Hybrid Azure on Prem.

Other requirements -

•Driving licence and own transport - essential

•Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and plainly explain complex situations.

•High attention to detail and organisational skills.

Please note, this is an office-based role and not a hybrid position, there is requirement for you to work from the head office in Swindon, as well as occasionally working at sites across Wiltshire and the surrounding areas.

Hours for this role are on a rotating rota basis between the hours of 7am and 6pm, as well as to cover bank holidays (excluding Christmas/Boxing Day/New Years Day). Also, there is requirement to carry out patching in the evenings which is managed on a rota basis.

Potential working hours are 7am - 3.30pm / 8.30am-5pm / 9.30am-6pm.
