Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Commercial Solutions Lead to join our team.

The Commercial Solutions Team is a busy and hardworking operational support team of around 20 people supporting a range of commercial systems that process approximately £160m revenue per year, underpinning our supporter engagement and visitor experience at properties. These systems include EPOS tills, payment card devices, stock management, car park technology, workforce planning tool, admission scanners and associated back-office systems.

This team also plays an important part in projects to replace, upgrade or introduce new systems and their knowledge and experience inform future requirements and key technology choices.

This work is done in close collaboration with colleagues in other IT functions, front-line operational roles, and central departments.

Transformative projects in the commercial space are underway to enable improved future growth potential, giving us richer information about our supporters’ needs, as well as a better experience for our visitors and people who use the systems. There are also other significant change initiatives in the wider application landscape that may require the support of this team.

What it's like to work here

We're bigger than you think, we're more complicated than we appear and we're larger scale than you'd imagine.

We've got passionate people in all our teams, and we've got so much more we want to achieve.

We're for ever, for everyone, and we really mean that.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

What you'll be doing

As IT Commercial Solutions Team Leader you are responsible for leading and managing the IT Commercial Solutions Team – setting clear priorities and objectives, developing and coaching, and creating a positive and engaged climate.

You’ll engage with relevant projects, providing your knowledge and expertise on current commercial systems and on requirements for new or replacement systems, ensuring that projects are handed over well into live operation and successfully transition from project mode into live support. This may evolve to cover further IT applications over time.

You will also manage resourcing and budgets for the team, with delegated authority from the Head of IT Delivery.
