Summary

We're recruiting a Senior Email Marketing Executive to plan content and oversee the creative development (copy and design) of marketing emails for the National Trust on a fixed-term basis. 

You'll play a key role in shaping the Trust’s email marketing strategy and serve as the main contact for all email marketing efforts. Building strong relationships across the communications and marketing team, you'll drive engagement, conversions, and meet email targets. 

As a performance email marketing expert, you'll lead the creation of email templates using the Taxi for Email content management system, designing personalised messages for audiences at various stages of their journey with the Trust.

The National Trust protects and cares for places so people and nature can thrive. The Communications & Marketing directorate plays a key role in telling remarkable stories and promoting the mission of Europe’s largest conservation charity.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you're based at other times. You'll be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview. 

What you'll be doing You'll oversee the design and development of data-driven automated email journeys, ensuring campaigns are tailored to different audiences with dynamic content. You'll also manage and mentor an Email Marketing Executive, providing guidance to maintain consistent design standards across all emails.  

Working closely with the data team, you'll ensure proper tracking for measuring performance and gaining insights into audience engagement.  

As the design expert, you'll stay updated on email design trends and best practices, creating compelling content in collaboration with our content creators.

Who we're looking for

  • Experience with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) to create a variety of different email assets
  • Experience managing and mentoring team members 
  • Familiarity with email design tools, ideally Taxi for Email using modules and templates  
  • A creative mind with a strong eye for design and writing
  • The ability to use performance data to make informed design decisions to optimise engagement and conversions. 
  • The ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of creative quality and team collaboration.
