We are currently looking for a Purchasing Apprentice to operate Monday Friday at our Swindon Head Office. Ideally candidates will hold at least four GCSEs at level C/4 or above including Maths and English.The key to Purchasing is communication so youll need to have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Youll need a proactive and can-do attitude and the ability to problem solve. Youll have good numeracy skills, a keen eye for detail and want to get results that are delivered on time.

This opportunity is advertised on a fixed-term contract basis due to this being an apprenticeship, the objective of which is to gain a recognised qualification and experience in the workplace.

This does not include a guaranteed permanent post with T Quality, however throughout the apprenticeship individuals are eligible to apply for vacancies within the workplace organisation, subject to the usual recruitment processes, with support being provided to ideally secure a position by completion.

The apprenticeship will provide valuable work experience and a qualification that is recognised by employers. On completion, successful candidates could have the opportunity to continue to a higher-level apprenticeship studying.

As a Purchasing Apprentice your duties will include:

Helping ensure that optimum levels of stock for nominated products and depots is always maintained in line with promotional, product, depot, service and cost requirements.

Assisting in expediting or cancelling of outstanding and short delivered purchase orders as necessary.

Maintaining and updating product and supplier records.

Advancing payment of invoices raised on suppliers.

Developing understanding of supplier market and competitor developments. To assist with appropriate actions to establish and maintain optimum price, competitiveness, quality, service, range, reliability and terms of supply.

To complete ad hoc purchasing related projects as required.

Any other general duties required within the grading of this position.
