TeacherActive is proud to be working with SEND schools in Swindon, supporting with their recruitment for a SEND Learning Support Assistant / LSA. This setting provides specialised and tailored support for each student, upholding a high standard of education, and placing emphasised importance on the provision of social, emotional and mental health-centred programmes that help students to thrive and reach their full potential.
We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable SEND Learning Support Assistant / LSA to take on this long-term role, with potential for this to become a permanent placement for the right candidate. This role is dynamic in nature, involving the support of children with varied diagnosis (Autism/ASD, ADHD, SEMH) through 1:1 tutoring and alternative learning provisions. The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant / LSA will bring a unique and adaptable skill set, with the ability to overcome challenges and positively mentor behaviour across the school environment.
The position will involve working with students who require guidance and mentorship in developing key skills, such as emotional literacy and maturity, to support their individual social, emotional, and mental health needs.
The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant / LSA will have:
· Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities (Autism/ASD, ADHD).
· Experience working with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours.
· Level 2 or 3 CACHE or equivalent.
· Team-Teach or MAPA qualifications desirable.
