We are recruiting for a Transport Supervisor in the Swindon area.

About the Transport Supervisor Role:

  • Working hours are Monday to Friday, 6am-2.30pm (some flexibility required)
  • Salary is £31K per annum
  • Permanent role
  • Based in Swindon area

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all internal & external customer requirements are met daily
  • Co-ordinate own fleet and sub-contract vehicles
  • Day to day management of drivers
  • De-briefing of drivers daily
  • Assist with the development of the team, providing skills and training to meet operational requirements and improve efficiency
  • Provide out of hours support for customers and drivers (as required)
  • Conduct regular driver / vehicle / trailer checks
  • Use of in-house TMS
  • Manage driver training program to include Driver CPC
  • Work with CPC Holders to ensure all VOSA 'Operator Licence' legislative requirements are adhered to and meetfull compliance with internal processes and procedures
  • Arrange maintenance of vehicles
  • Reporting / recording of drivers hours, vehicle defects, Tacho infringements etc

Skills / Experience required for the Transport Supervisor role:

  • Knowledge of the Transport industry
  • General IT literacy, including Excel, Word etc
  • Professional qualification e.g. CPCor willing to undertake training
  • Self-motivated with ability to work under own supervision
  • Team player
  • Ability to co-ordinate a variety of tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • The ability to establish and maintain good working
