We are recruiting for a Transport Supervisor in the Swindon area.
About the Transport Supervisor Role:
- Working hours are Monday to Friday, 6am-2.30pm (some flexibility required)
- Salary is 31K per annum
- Permanent role
- Based in Swindon area
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure all internal & external customer requirements are met daily
- Co-ordinate own fleet and sub-contract vehicles
- Day to day management of drivers
- De-briefing of drivers daily
- Assist with the development of the team, providing skills and training to meet operational requirements and improve efficiency
- Provide out of hours support for customers and drivers (as required)
- Conduct regular driver / vehicle / trailer checks
- Use of in-house TMS
- Manage driver training program to include Driver CPC
- Work with CPC Holders to ensure all VOSA 'Operator Licence' legislative requirements are adhered to and meetfull compliance with internal processes and procedures
- Arrange maintenance of vehicles
- Reporting / recording of drivers hours, vehicle defects, Tacho infringements etc
Skills / Experience required for the Transport Supervisor role:
- Knowledge of the Transport industry
- General IT literacy, including Excel, Word etc
- Professional qualification e.g. CPCor willing to undertake training
- Self-motivated with ability to work under own supervision
- Team player
- Ability to co-ordinate a variety of tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
- The ability to establish and maintain good working
