Location: Broadmeadows, Symington, KA1 5PU.
Salary: £42,609 per annum.
Contract: Full time, permanent.  

Hansel are a leading social care charity with various sites located across Ayrshire, offering a range of personalised support choices to over 600 people each year.

Our dedicated Maintenance Team provide a responsive and professional service across our site at Broadmeadows, Symington and in our services throughout Ayrshire.  We currently have a very rare opportunity for an experienced Facilities and Maintenance Manager to join our team on a full-time permanent basis.

You will be responsible for managing and coordinating a wide range of planned preventative maintenance and repair work including joinery, plumbing and general building works, ensuring that all work is carried out safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to our customers and team members.

Working as a specialist lead advisor/project manager in relation to all maintenance, preventative and capital projects, you will have line management responsibility for the dedicated in house Maintenance and Grounds Maintenance team, as well as responsibility for sourcing and engaging with external professionals and contractors on larger or specialist projects as required.

Day to day you will coordinate any routine maintenance or reactive work required in respect of plant, equipment and properties owned or occupied by Hansel, ensuring that all work is completed in a timely and risk prioritised manner.

You will ensure legislative compliance in the running of Hansel estates and be responsible for all administrative requirements in relation to maintenance and domestic activities.

To be successful in this role you should have:

•  Leadership and team management experience within a similar remit in a multisite/complex setting
•  A relevant qualification in a related discipline, or equivalent experience
•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•  An ability to understand and interpret complex documents such as service contracts
•  Strong team working skills as well as an ability to operate effectively on your own
•  An ability to plan, organise, prioritise and respond flexibly to changing demands
•  Proven procurement and negotiation skills
•  Proven project management and delivery skills
•  Demonstratable analytical and problem solving capabilities
•  A practical and innovative approach to work
•  Values in line with the ethos of Hansel as well as a respect for diversity, acting as a role model to others at all times
•  A full clean driving license
