Location: Reading, UK
Contract: Outside IR35, 12+ months
Security Clearance: Required to be eligable (Note: Overseas work within the last 5 years may affect eligibility)
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years as an Electrical Inspector.
- Educational Background:
- ONC/HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or:
- Completion of a full electrical apprenticeship along with C&G 2391 Electrical Inspection certification.
- Regulations and Standards:
- Proficiency in 17th or 18th Edition wiring regulations.
- Possession of a CSCS Card or an equivalent Safety Passport.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal teams and external customers.
- Inspection Scope:
- Inspect a variety of equipment, including Class 1 nuclear pressure equipment and items manufactured to conventional codes, standards, and regulations.
- Industry Knowledge:
- Good understanding of UK inspection requirements within the nuclear industry or relevant experience from other high-hazard industries.
- Standards and Codes:
- Ability to understand or quickly learn nuclear and conventional codes and standards related to the inspection of electrical equipment in high-hazard environments, including installation, punch lists, reporting, and the full Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process.
- Self-Motivation:
- Proactive and self-motivated approach to both technical and non-technical tasks.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Experience in managing a range of stakeholders, with a demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate in technical discussions related to inspection.
- Communication Skills:
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Quality Management:
- Good working knowledge of customer quality requirements and the application of ISO 9001 standards.
- Manufacturing Processes:
- Understanding of manufacturing techniques and processes.
This role is a great opportunity for experienced Electrical Inspectors who have worked in high-hazard industries, particularly in the nuclear sector. The position offers a long-term contract outside IR35, with the opportunity to work on significant projects in Reading.
