Senior Engineer

Reporting to: Senior Estates Manager

Role Overview:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the maintenance team, including planned, reactive, and compliance work.
  • Provide technical supervision and support to other engineers.
  • Develop and manage the delivery strategy for planned, reactive, and compliance activities.
  • Oversee compliance tasks, including procuring, booking, and monitoring outsourced activities.
  • Maintain comprehensive records and follow up on remedial actions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and oversee a comprehensive PPM program.
  • Compliance Program: Set out compliance requirements and manage them in the CAFM system.
  • Leadership: Lead the site team, ensuring adherence to safety procedures and policies.
  • Task Delegation: Delegate and supervise tasks based on team members' skills.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to improve operations.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and inspections.
  • Financial Management: Manage budgets and ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Projects: Coordinate maintenance, upgrades, and renovation projects.
  • Asset Management: Maintain an asset register and optimize asset life cycles.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct regular site surveys and address maintenance needs.
  • Performance Reviews: Conduct reviews and provide feedback to team members.
  • Contractor Management: Manage external contractors and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure all activities comply with HSE guidelines and legal requirements.

Additional Duties:

  • Manage own time and provide reciprocal cover for logistics services.
  • Maintain communication within the team and across the Estates department.
  • Ensure adherence to legal responsibilities and organisational policies.
  • Promote health and safety and use the incident reporting system.

The position is based at their main site in Tadworth KT20 which has a head office, 2 schools a nursery, a rehab centre and care home but also has 7 retail units all within a 10 min drive (with the exception of 1) so applicants will be required to manage/ visit these other locations when needed.

The position is working 37.5 hours a week Monday - Friday typically 8am start but need to be flexible as operational hours are between 0700 - 1900

Driving licence essential
