Our client, a leading & expanding manufacturing organisation, established for over 30 years in Tamworth are seeking a driven, proactive and detail-focused Assistant Project Manager to join their fast-paced Project Management Office. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys managing multiple projects simultaneously, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is confident taking a hands-on approach from project start to completion.  Working closely with the Project Manager and wider teams, the successful candidate will help deliver major change initiatives, while also supporting internal projects aimed at improving business operations and efficiency.  Your salary will be between £35,000 to £40,000 depending on experience.  Benefits include 31 days holiday including Bank Holidays, Paycare - A Healthcare Cash Plan (Discounts available and access to a 24-hour Doctor), Access to Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), and up to 5 days extra unpaid holiday available at a salary sacrifice.  Hours of work are 9:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday – please note this is an office based position.        Working as the Assistant Project Manager, you will:
  • Support and coordinate the full lifecycle of multiple projects, ensuring they’re delivered on time, on scope, and within budget
  • Create and maintain key project documentation such as plans, business cases, status updates, and meeting notes
  • Monitor timelines, track progress, and identify risks or blockers - resolving issues proactively or escalating when necessary
  • Work cross-functionally with stakeholders, project teams, and external suppliers to ensure consistent communication and alignment
  • Contribute to continuous improvement within the Project Management Office by implementing best practices and supporting the evolution of project processes
  • Maintain detailed records of project resources and costs to assist in accurate reporting and informed decision-making
  As the Assistant Project Manager, you will have:
  • Previous experience in a project management role, experienced in dealing with a variety of projects at any given time including IT
  • PRINCE2 certified or equivalent project management qualification
  • Proven ability to manage tasks independently and juggle multiple priorities with a high level of organisation
  • Strong communicator – both written and verbal – with a professional, client-facing approach
  • Adept at producing structured documentation and reporting with a strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and project management tools
  • Holds a full UK Driving Licence and is open to travel across multiple sites when required
  • A basic understanding of data security and privacy principles
  • You may experience working within any of the following: Project Coordinator, Junior Project Manager, Project Support Office, Project Management Assistant, Project Office Assistant, Project Support Specialist, Site Project Coordinator or any other similar position where you have managed various projects from start to finish
