An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Credit Controller to join a well-established and growing business in Tamworth. Due to continued expansion, the company is looking to strengthen its finance team with a dedicated individual who can take ownership of a portfolio of up to 1,250 live accounts. This is a fantastic chance to work in a fast-paced environment where you will play a key role in managing customer accounts and minimising outstanding debt.
In this temporary-to-permanent position, you will be responsible for conducting credit risk checks, chasing overdue payments, and maintaining strong relationships with customers. Initially offered on a three-month temporary basis, the role is expected to become permanent, providing an excellent long-term career opportunity. This position is best suited for individuals who are immediately available or on a short notice period.
Key Responsibilities:

Managing a portfolio of up to 1,250 live accounts, ensuring timely payments.

Conducting credit risk assessments and setting appropriate credit limits.

Chasing overdue invoices via phone, email, and letter.

Allocating payments and reconciling customer accounts.

Handling and resolving invoice disputes and queries efficiently.

Working closely with internal teams such as sales and finance to ensure smooth account management.

Preparing and reporting on aged debt and cash collection forecasts.

Supporting process improvements to enhance the efficiency of the credit control function.
Candidate Attributes and Skills:

Previous experience in credit control or a similar finance role.

Strong communication and negotiation skills with a confident approach to chasing debt.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.

High attention to detail with the ability to manage a large volume of accounts.
