Job Overview
Phoenix Tavinor Engineering is seeking an experienced Powder Coater Plant Professional to oversee the operation and maintenance of their powder coating plant. This role involves managing the plant’s production for 2–3 days per week, with the remaining time dedicated to organizing, preparing, stock management, and plant maintenance.
The plant features a 5-stage pre-treatment process on a full circuit track layout. This is a hands-on role requiring a skilled professional with strong technical expertise and an ability to collaborate with a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manual Powder Coating: Operate fully programmable Wagner guns, including handling paint colour changes, booth speed adjustments, and temperature monitoring.
- Team Oversight: Supervise labouring staff for hanging, masking, and spacing techniques.
- Quality Control: Ensure goods are properly prepared before painting and conduct thorough checks after curing, including MEK and scratch tests.
- Process Management: Follow and maintain established process controls and procedures for the painting workflow.
- Collaboration: Assist with loading and offloading tasks when automatic spraying is in use.
- Equipment Proficiency: Familiarity with GEMA automatic and manual equipment is required.
- Plant Maintenance: Organize and maintain plant equipment, including cleaning, stock rotation, and preparation of work.
Key Requirements
- Experience: Previous experience in powder coating is essential.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in manual powder coating using Wagner guns and familiarity with GEMA equipment.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on quality control, process management, and adherence to established procedures.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of plant operations.
- Physical Capability: Willingness to assist with loading, offloading, and other hands-on tasks.
- Organizational Skills: Capable of managing stock, preparing work, and ensuring the plant operates efficiently.
