Health & Safety Advisor
Providing accurate guidance to the company on all Health and Safety relatedmatters and promoting a positive culture and approach towards health, safety,environment and sustainability. Ensuring all health and safety best practices,policies and procedures are followed to mitigate risk across the business.
The Role of Health & Safety Advisor
- Establishing and implementing Health and Safety policies and procedures to maintain high standards.
- Ensure that Health and Safety strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs to enable the company to function effectively.
- Establishing long-term Health and Safety initiatives, driving a culture of continuous improvement.
- Monitor industry trends and H&S legislation changes, advising management on the necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.
- Prepare and submit auditory reports when required.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and spot check audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide expert advice on H&S related issues, acting as the primary point of contact relating to Health and Safety matters.
- Analyse data and utilise KPIs to identify improvements in all areas relating to H&S.
- Recommend preventative actions and implement corrective actions while monitoring the effectiveness of improvements.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain and update HSE records and documentation, including logs, risk assessments, and safety procedures.
- Develop and monitor HSE training programs for all employees at all levels, ensuring they understand and comply with safety awareness and procedures.
- Promote awareness and understanding of HSE practices through the health and safety committee, ongoing education, and communications.
- Mentor and support all staff in implementing HSE initiatives and best practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HSE programs and initiatives to enhance workplace safety and environmental performance.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HSE programs, recommending improvements when necessary.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HSE considerations into project planning through to execution.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
- Coordinate and conduct emergency drills and training requirements such as first aid and fire marshal training.

The Candidate for the Health & Safety Advisor
- IOSH Certificate / Diploma
- A demonstrable and proven trackrecord in the use of Quality tools; suchas 8D, FEMEA, Ishikawa, Root cause,Kaizen/Six Sigma & 5Y associatedQuality tools
- A knowledgeable understanding of ISO9001 & adherence to additionalstandards, ISO 14001, ISO 45001
- Excellent communication with provenability to produce high quality writtenreports and presentations
