Career Teachers are seeking experienced and qualified Teaching Assistants to work within a cluster of secondary schools in and around the Tamworth area.

We are extremely busy with requests from our schools with the flexibility of working around your commitments as we offer part-time and full-time hours to suit as well as short-term and long-term assignments.

Responsibilities of the role include:

As a teaching assistant, you will combine your knowledge of learning support and teaching techniques with your compassion and understanding of learning needs, to support pupils in their education career, and Teachers in their duties. You will be responsible for providing learning support to pupils in key stage 3 and 4 on a one-to-one and whole classroom basis.

To be successful for this role, you must:

  • Have previous experience working across key stage 3 and 4
  • Hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3, BTEC level 2 or 3 or equivalent in Teaching Assistant or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
  • Share an understanding of the importance of a child-centred approach to teaching
  • Develop and promote positive relationships with children, adults, and other practitioners
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate teaching and learning activities under the direction of a teacher
  • Support Literacy and Numeracy development
  • Observe and promote pupil performance and development
  • Hold an enhanced child workforce DBS check on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
  • Have up-to-date safeguarding training; Career Teachers offer FREE online Safeguarding training
  • Provide a full 10-year career history and references to cover the last 2 years including current and previous employers.

The role advertised is for temporary supply work.
