Mortgage Advisor Salary £30,000 to £35,000 basic depending on experience.Location -Birmingham/Hybrid

We are excited to be working with an established brokerage and mortgage packager. We provide specialist mortgage advice to clients directly over the telephone on a national basis and package for brokers where they choose to provide the advice.

Their customers are typically customers looking for specialist lending that is not available to them from the high street. We assist those with more complex and unusual circumstances and provide advice on residential first and second charge mortgages, buy to let mortgages, commercial and bridging finance.

We are looking for a full time experienced and suitably qualified Mortgage Adviser to join their team. You will receive referrals from FCA registered brokers and will be required to use your factfinding skills to understand the needs of your clients and assess the best course of action for them.

Administration support will be provided, and the role offers hybrid working between home and the Office.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with the referring broker on a case-by-case basis.

  • Undertake initial on boarding and fact-finding calls with clients to understand their needs and circumstances using effective questioning and listening skills.

  • Identify where a client may be deemed as vulnerable and amend your approach in a suitable manner.

  • Ensure the accurate capture of client information and maintain detailed notes throughout the application process.

  • Maintain an excellent knowledge of the lender’s eligibility criteria, affordability requirements, products, and features.

  • Take the necessary steps to assess the suitability of mortgage products against the needs and requirements of a customer.

  • Assist the products team in maintaining the accuracy of the 1APP sourcing system.

  • Recommend suitable solutions to clients in a detailed and clear manner.

  • Provide a clear audit trail of the suitability of your advice through detailed notes and rationale.

  • Adhere to business and FCA standards throughout the entire application process to ensure we protect our customers and remain regulatory compliant.

  • Assist in the development of processes and systems by identifying areas of improvement or efficiency changes.

  • Liaise with the new business team where applicable to assist in the influx of new advised cases.

Skills & Experience:

  • Fully CeMAP Qualified.

  • Proven mortgage advice experience.

  • Knowledge of the FCA Regulations and financial services industry.

  • Drive and enthusiasm to succeed.

  • Self-discipline and have an appropriate quiet space to be able to work remotely from home effectively.

  • A friendly and proactive phone manner.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Committed to providing an excellent level of customer service.

  • Computer literate and (MS Office, internet, email systems).
