Your new companyI am partnered exclusively with a high-profile main contractor, operating in the water industry, who are looking to appoint an Operations Director to their business. My client has a strong pipeline of work in the water industry and, in this role, you will hold overall responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of all programmes of work. This is a permanent position based in the Midlands region (with the option for hybrid working).

Your new roleAs Operations Director you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Liaising with project management to ensure work is safely delivered to expected requirements
  • Holding accountability for the successful delivery of work within budgets
  • Engaging with clients, local authorities, subcontractors and other key project stakeholders
  • Ensuring programmes of work are defined, and risk management plans are in place
  • Monitoring financial performance and delivery against programmes of work
  • Ensuring activities meet programme outputs and are completed to expected standards.

What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful, you will have:

  • Proven successful experience of managing projects (Civil & MEICA) throughout the project lifecycle within the water industry
  • Working knowledge of NEC form of contract
  • Experience in budget as well as profit and loss
  • A strong understanding of programme delivery processes
  • Financial awareness and be able to work to budgets.
