Quality Inspector£27,000 per annum08:30am - 17:00pm, Monday - FridayWe are seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure that all incoming supplier deliveries are checked for accuracy and quality, guaranteeing they meet the required specifications. The role involves monitoring both inbound and outbound product quality and key inputs throughout the production cycle, with a focus on inspections, analysis, and reporting non-conformance issues. You will also support investigative actions to resolve any quality discrepancies.Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage supplier deliveries and coordinate with drivers on site to ensure efficient processing while prioritising safety.
  • Oversee bulk tanker operations within working hours, ensuring correct material handling, sampling, and testing are carried out, and completing inspections and documentation to meet permit requirements.
  • Ensure the DSR (Delivery Site Requirements) process is followed by all tanker off loaders, reporting issues to relevant departments, and maintaining up-to-date training materials and records.
  • Receive, log, and inspect palletised deliveries, confirming product quality and specifications, and notifying appropriate departments of any discrepancies.
  • Update booking systems with delivery information, ensuring delivery notes match purchase orders, and track missing documents as needed.
  • Collaborate with production and stock control teams to address delivery or product issues that may affect order schedules.
  • Identify and document non-conformance when issues arise with product, quantity, specification, delivery, or adherence to site rules, ensuring all relevant information is captured.
  • Generate supplier return notes and label pallets ready for collection.
  • Manage the quarantine area and oversee non-conforming products to ensure swift resolution.
  • Inspect returned pallets to determine their next steps, whether to be re-stocked, scrapped, or reworked.
  • Conduct random weight checks on palletised deliveries to ensure compliance with product and packaging requirements, including packaging components, full pallets, and finished goods.
  • Maintain documentation such as packaging specifications, delivery note folders, driver induction records, and tank/silo information plans.
  • Perform a range of QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental) inspections, including audits of pick faces and finished goods, recording findings accurately, and working with local teams to resolve issues.
  • Record and document inspection and audit results thoroughly.
  • Assist the QHSE Manager in the introduction of new products, quality systems, tools, and techniques.
  • Promote and ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental requirements, acting as a champion for these areas.
  • Provide support in other QHSE tasks and functions as needed.
  • Follow all relevant management systems and control procedures.
Required Experience:
  • In-depth knowledge of the 7 Principles of Quality Management.
  • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how quality performance impacts business outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence and credibility in demonstrating expertise in both people and product safety.
  • Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to assertively enforce quality standards when necessary.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
