Job Title: Commercial Manager
Location: Central Scotland and the West
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Our client, a civil engineering contractor, is looking to strengthen its team by appointing a Commercial Manager on a permanent basis, based in West Lothian. This role involves overseeing the commercial aspects of projects, including contract management, procurement, and financial performance. You will work alongside an experienced team to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Managing the commercial team.
- Overseeing the pre-construction phase.
- Business development.
- Developing and implementing the commercial strategy.
- Preparing budgets, cost control, and identifying risks.
- Managing tenders.
- Reporting to directors on monthly KPIs.
- Responsibility for all tendering, contracts, and commercial disputes.
- Negotiating contract terms.
- Managing subcontractors and suppliers.
- Negotiating, agreeing, and administering contracts.
- Subcontract procurement and supply chain management.
- Compiling monthly financial reports in line with company procedures.
Applicants must have:
- A degree or HNC (minimum) in a quantity surveying discipline.
- Previous experience working on frameworks, due to the nature of the project (essential).
- A proven track record of building and maintaining strong working relationships.
- Competency with all forms of contract and standard methods of measurement.
- A full UK driving licence.
