Red Recruitment is looking for a FI Claims Handling Team Lead to join their client's Commercial Claims Team.

As the Claims Handling Team Lead, you'll be responsible for overseeing a team of claims handlers, ensuring that cases are managed efficiently, fairly, and with the highest standards of customer service. You'll provide guidance, support, and development to your team, while also acting as a point of escalation for complex claims.

You will be able to work from home frequently with travel to the Taunton, Bristol or London office as and when required.

You should have experience in FI claims to be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities of a FI Claims Handling Team Leader:

  • Leading, motivating, and supporting a team of claims handlers to achieve performance targets and service levels
  • Monitoring workflow and allocating resources to ensure timely and effective claims processing
  • Instructing and monitoring service suppliers, including external legal counsel, panel firms and adjusters and controlling expenditure
  • Providing support to underwriters including advising on claims-related information, updating on trends, and attending claims review meetings as required
  • Ensuring full compliance with all service standards and ensuring that Claims Handling is conducted with regard to the relevant regulatory compliance
  • Handling escalated or complex claims with a focus on resolution and customer satisfaction
  • Assisting in the mentoring, training and development of Claims Handlers, Assistant Claims Handlers, and Technicians
  • Actively participating in and contributing improvements to the claims processes and systems whilst promoting best practice and reducing the level of non-value added tasks undertaken by Claims Handlers

Key Skills and Experience of a FI Claims Handling Team Leader:

  • Proven experience in a claims handling role, ideally with leadership or supervisory experience, is required
  • Strong knowledge of claims processes, legislation, and regulatory requirements
  • In-depth understanding of FI claims is essential
  • Appropriate technical expertise and analytical skills
  • Coverage knowledge with the ability to make own determination/challenge lawyers
  • The ability to lead by example and inspire others
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • You should be a strong team player who identifies and proposes solutions to problems
  • The ability to develop excellent working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders is required
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and ECF is required
