Pertemps is proud to be recruiting on behalf of our local government client for an Administrative & Civic Support Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly organised and detail-oriented administrator to play a key role in supporting both the day-to-day operations of the council and its civic and ceremonial functions.Location: TavistockHours: Monday – Thursday 9am – 5pm, Friday 9am – 4:30pm (37 hours per week)Salary: £12.45 per hourOffice-based roleWhat You’ll Be Doing:
  • Office Administration: Providing essential administrative and corporate support, including mail merges, audio typing, and financial record-keeping.
  • Democratic Support: Assisting with council meetings, preparing and issuing agendas, and taking minutes (some evening work required).
  • Civic & Mayoral Support: Organising and coordinating civic events, managing the Mayor’s diary, and supporting ceremonial functions.
  • Customer & Public Engagement: Acting as a first point of contact, handling reception duties, and assisting with the Council’s online presence.
  • Project & Event Coordination: Supporting council projects and working across multiple departments.
