IT Systems Administrator

A returning client of mine has asked me to recruit a dedicated IT Administrator to provide essential support to their internal users. This role offers the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills in a dynamic environment.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Provide first-line support to internal staff, addressing and resolving IT issues promptly.
  • Install new computers, servers, network devices, software, and manage upgrades.
  • Maintain PC images and servers with the latest Windows patches and software updates.
  • Monitor and proactively address issues on workstations, servers, and network infrastructure.
  • Support a variety of instrument and analytical systems, troubleshooting any issues that arise.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with Windows 10 / 11 and Windows Server 2019.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 2019 and user management in Active Directory.
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving, and team-working skills.
Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of Group Policy, VMWare, and Anti-Virus (Sophos).
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace Management.
  • Experience with network configuration (VLAN’s, ACL’s).
  • Understanding of SQL (Queries, Maintenance Plans).
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical, laboratory, or other highly regulated environment is advantageous.
