Financial Controller

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Controller to join a leading manufacturing business in Telford. This role offers the chance to take ownership of financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic decision-making, ensuring the site's continued profitability and operational efficiency.

As Financial Controller, you will lead month-end reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to group deadlines. You will develop and maintain cost models, oversee Bill of Materials and overhead calculations, and assess product profitability. Your expertise will support strategic decision-making, scenario planning, and cost control, helping the business navigate financial challenges effectively. Additionally, you will be responsible for KPI reporting, variance analysis, and tracking financial performance to identify risks and opportunities. Cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and cost-saving initiatives will also be key aspects of your role, alongside providing guidance on commercial pricing strategies, sales forecasts, and CapEx projects. You will also play a role in aligning the site's IT strategy with broader business objectives.

What is Required:
  • A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with strong financial control and reporting experience.
  • A background in manufacturing, with expertise in cost accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Proven ability to develop financial models, analyse variances, and provide commercial insights.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to challenge and influence senior decision-makers.
