Management Accountant

Prince are working with a growing, international family run business based in Telford. We are looking for a Management Accountant on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will provide financial data and advice to make sure we continue to operate efficiently and competitively, through analysing financial performance, monitoring of spending and preparing reports. This role will use both accounting expertise and interpersonal skills to offer strategic insight on business decisions, investments, risk and budget planning.

Duties will include but wont be exclusive to:

  • Lead the month end processes.
  • Preparation of the monthly management accounts for senior management within reporting deadlines.
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Participate in strategic budgeting and forecasting to drive financial/ business planning and decision making.
  • Provide profit and loss variance analysis with commentary, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Recommending strategies to reduce costs.
  • Work closely with other departments to provide financial guidance and support.
  • Offering professional input on financial matters and advising on ways of improving business performance.
  • Effectively communicating financial data to non-financial managers.
  • Evaluating, developing and managing financial systems and policies, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Analysing, managing and assisting in reducing monetary risk.
  • Engage in auditing and taxation techniques.

Skills and Experience

It is essential that the candidate has experience of working in a similar role. Backgrounds in practice or industry would be considered. You will need an in depth understanding of current accounting principles and the ability to analyse and summarise complex information.
