Your new companyHays are working exclusively with a successful business in Telford who are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their team in January for 12 months covering a maternity leave Your new roleYou will have a good handover with the current staff member and then be working closely with the Financial Director, with duties including:
- Raising Invoices daily
- Producing daily sales report
- Dealing with queries regarding delivery notes and sales orders
- Raising credit notes and sending POD's
- Raising Proformas
- Setting up new accounts
- Taking payments over the phone
- Checking bank daily for payments and receipts
- Posting nominal payments
- Monthly credit card analysis
- Posting expenses
- Weekly/ monthly payment runs
- Monthly payroll
- Cover for Purchase Ledger
- Assist with Audits
- General ad-hoc duties
What you'll need to succeedYou should be an experienced Accounts Assistant who is able to pick up new skills and systems with ease. You should have good IT skills including Excel skills and excellent accuracy & attention to detail. Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team are essential.
