Production Operative

PRODUCTION OPERATIVE NEEDED IN TELFORD, SHROPSHIRE!!

This leading manufacturing business, specialising in custom precision components for defence and aerospace applications, is looking for an experienced Production Operative to join their team in Telford, Shropshire. 

The working hours will initially be day shifts (8am-4.30pm Monday to Friday), but once you've completed a probation period the working hours will move onto a rotating 6-2/2-10 shift Monday to Friday.

The starting rate of pay will be £12.13 per hour, but once you move onto rotating shifts you will receive a £2.50 per hour shift allowance on top of your basic rate (£14.63 per hour).

The hiring manager would prefer someone who has some previous experience working with chemicals, or holds a COSHH qualification, but they will look at someone who has a solid manufacturing background and is willing to learn.

What You Will Do:

• Progress manufactured components through the next stage of manufacturing.
• Check parts against technical drawings to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Monitor and ensure the correct operation of machines.
• Address any quality issues with the manufacturing department promptly.
• Ensure all components meet the required customer standard before moving on to the next production stage.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to COSHH standards.

What You Will Bring:

• Proven experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with sheet metal, stainless steel, or aluminium (desirable).
• A COSHH Awareness certificate or experience working to COSHH standards (desirable).
• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
