We're actively recruiting for a Maintenance Team Lead for a leading Tier 1 automotive supplier in Telford.

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership position with a dynamic mix of hands-on technical work and project management. With 3-5 years of solid experience, you'll be playing a key role in overseeing maintenance projects while managing contractors and installations. You’ll be leading from the front, but this isn’t a full-on team leader role – it’s all about stepping up into leadership while staying involved in the technical side.

  • 30% Team Lead, 70% Technical – An exciting blend of leadership and hands-on work.
  • Shift Pattern: 3-shift rotation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion HSE policies, ensuring safety and environmental standards are met at all times.
  • Oversee contractor RAMS and permits to ensure full compliance.
  • Lead and manage maintenance projects, ensuring they meet key objectives – on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Utilize project management tools to track progress and quickly resolve issues.
  • Motivate and drive cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Contribute to plant KPI improvements and deliver impactful departmental capital projects.
  • Encourage cost-effective project delivery while fostering continuous improvement across the board.
  • Provide training and drive post-project excellence by challenging the status quo.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualifications: Time-served apprentice in mechanical/electrical engineering or an HNC qualification.
  • Skills: Strong hands-on experience in installation, fabrication, and engineering. Project management and contractor control are a must.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Health & Safety: Certification required.
  • Industry Experience: Previous work in Tier 1 automotive supply, with knowledge of equipment like die casting machines, robots, CNCs, and Siemens PLCs is a plus.
