Hays education are currently recruiting for a teaching assistant job at a primary school in Telford, starting after October half-term. This school has an excellent reputation within the local community for the level of support and education they provide for their pupils. These schools are looking for someone to provide general support in the classroom, as well as being supported by a dedicated team of staff and the class teacher. Your new roleIn your new role as a teaching assistant in this school, you will be supporting the Nursery class. You will work closely with the class teacher and other teaching assistants to offer a safe, engaging and stimulating learning environment for all pupils by building strong constructive relationships with staff and pupils alike. You will support all pupils in the class, offering 1:1 and small group sessions in key areas including phonics, social and emotional development, learn through play and more. You will also support SEN within the wider classroom as required, alongside the allocated 1:1 teaching assistant. What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience supporting children and young people in the last two years, as well as:

  • Experience working within EYFS (early years foundation stage)
  • An NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Early Years / Supporting Teaching and Learning is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience working with SEN is advantageous but not essential.
