Gap Personnel (operating as an employment business) are currently recruiting a Production Team Leader for our client in Telford, Shropshire . This role is permanent for an experienced Production Team Leader. A role that fits perfect with a work/life balance.

Hours of work:

Monday - Thursday

7am - 5pm

Pay

£29,250 per annum during first 3 months probation

£32,175 per annum following probation

Description and key responsibilities as a Production Team Leader:

  • Ensuring IMS requirements are maintained
  • Monitor output v achievements v targets and react as necessary.
  • Ensure all team members are working to clients work instructions and risk assessments.
  • Monitor scrap levels and react to/report any concerns immediately.
  • Ensure management is aware of any issue liable to affect or compromise the IMS
  • Maintain safety standards within cell in accordance with both companies internal policies and HSE legislation.
  • Ensure operators are trained to an acceptable standard working with the trainer to get the team members trained.
  • To lead by example at all times through a professional approach to communication with staff at all levels and to ensure confidentiality is maintained where necessary.
  • Ensure the team has appropriate stock levels of all materials to accommodate production of components.
  • Assist Production Manager to deliver accurate appraisals by reporting operator performance on a regular basis.
  • Liaise with other Team leaders where necessary to maximise both output and quality by production shift report on a daily basic and Production meeting with Production Manager.
  • Ensure all maintenance is carried out on equipment and House keeping is a the highest level to be done straight away.
  • Open and lock up the Factory and start up equipment.
  • Maintain effective working relationship with all operators and management team including those of other departments.
  • Reactive approach to urgent and constantly changing demands.
  • Integrating new recruits without affecting production quality.

Qualifications and skills required as a Production Team Leader:

  • Awareness of the IMS requirements
  • Develop an understanding of machine setup and maintain machine conditions
  • Ability to manage operators within the Team to achieve maximum output and quality.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IMS and products/machinery
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve targets under pressure and within changing environment .
  • Experience in Team Leadership or Supervision
