Major Recruitment is seeking a Buyer for a Telford-based client, with an immediate start available.
The role requires 3-5 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, along with CIPS Level 5 certification or higher.
Key responsibilities include ensuring quality and cost-effective service from suppliers, supporting new product introduction (NPI) functions, and optimizing commercial opportunities.
Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and experience in indirect purchasing and lean manufacturing.
The position offers a competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000, depending on experience.

Major Recruitment Oldbury are delighted to be recruiting exclusively for our Telford based client who are seeking a Buyer to start immediately.

Duties and tasks will include:

• To ensure that suppliers consistently provide quality and service in the most cost effective andefficient method• To support NPI function in achieving on time and budget gateway targets• Issuing of RFQ and analysis of responses, this shall include review of cost data and QAF toensure optimum terms achieved for our business• To ensure material and services are supplied in line with MRP and requisitions to support bothpre-production and serial production demands• To ensure orders and contracts placed are in line with Company procedures and policies, thisshall include documentation of commercial terms & maintenance of appropriate records• To optimise commercial opportunities, including bench marking costs, to achieve cost andefficiency savings• To actively deliver robust strategies for key commodity groups.• To help mentor Junior staff where appropriate to share knowledge & best practice.
