Job description

Teamwork Partnership is currently recruiting for a New Product Development (NPD) Chef in Telford, you will be in a customer facing role managing the development process from concept to launch. You will gain a full understanding of the pastry and quiche sector coupled with a desire to translate new trends & consumer needs into winning New Product Development.

You will lead the business into new profitable areas through proactive Innovation / New Product development. Your role encompasses various crucial areas, including:

Health and Safety:

- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices in all aspects of new product development processes.

- Implementing safety protocols in the development kitchen and production areas to maintain a safe working environment.

- Collaborating with the health and safety team to address any potential risks and hazards associated with new product development activities.

Food Safety & Quality:

- Upholding stringent food safety standards throughout the product development lifecycle to guarantee the safety and integrity of new food products.

- Working with the Technical department to conducting regular assessments and testing to ensure that both new and existing products continue to meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

- Collaborating with quality assurance teams to implement quality control measures and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Working alongside production team to develop solutions to production issues whilst maintaining food safety.

Process Knowledge and Control:

- Applying your in-depth process knowledge to develop efficient and scalable production processes for new and existing food products. To manage this across multiple projects ensure key dates are met/critical paths.

- Proactive management of recipe generator software, liking in with Procurement & Commercial to ensure up to date recipe specifications & costings.

- Monitoring and controlling key process parameters to achieve consistency and quality in product development. Ensuring all products are developed in line with all customer and audit requirements.

-Propose and manage products inline with benchmarking for submissions, panels and customer demand. Leading the cooking, serving and discussion of product detail at customer meetings

Continuous Improvement:

- Leading and contributing to new product and continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency, effectiveness and profitability of new and existing product development processes.

- Analyzing data and feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in product development.

- Implementing best practices and process enhancements to drive continuous improvement in new and existing product development.

- Contributing to the hospitality and service delivery of customer visits as required.

People Management:

- Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Production, Technical, Supply Chain and Commercial, to bring new products from concept to commercialization.

- Providing guidance and leadership to key stakeholders, customers and other relevant individuals involved in the NPD process to both manage expectations and meet customer needs.

- Fostering a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and innovation to ensure successful new product launches.

- Supporting the Commercial Manager to ensure effective communication and train. Ensuring best practice and process is effectively understood and followed by Production, Technical, Supply Chain and any other person relevant to the production and safety of product.

Overall, as an NPD Chef, you play a pivotal role in driving innovation, maintaining food safety and quality standards, optimizing processes, driving continuous improvement, and effectively managing teams to bring new and exciting food products to market successfully.
