Business Development Manager (Automation)

Remote (Office in Telford)

£ - Experience Dependant + Bonus + Car Allowance

Our client are a market leader in the integration of automated solutions into industries such as FMCG, Automotive and Marine. They are seeking a business development manager to join their growing team, the role will involve the generation of new leads and securing new long-term partnerships. The role can be remote based but the successful candidate will on occasion be required in the Telford office.

Key Responsibilities – Business Development Manager (Automation)

  • Present to potential clients through direct or digital communication
  • Provide a high-quality service to potential and existing customers
  • Successful management of the sales process from lead generation, pitching, asking questions, pitching the solution, negotiating and closing the order through to handing over a project to the Engineering team and kick-off meeting with customer
  • Prepare proposals and specifications with the full support of the Sales Applications team and in accordance with company procedures
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of issues affecting system integrator companies and the drives, digital and automation industry. Maintain an awareness of competitor activities
  • Representing the company at industry events and tradeshows in order to gain new business leads and contacts
  • Maintain the Company's reputation as a leading-edge, systems integrator
  • Responsible for generation of new leads and making suitable appointments. Motivated to ensure all sales opportunities are explored
  • Travel will be a major factor and overnight stops may be required. Overseas travel can be expected from time to time
  • Comply with all relevant standards and work to the Company's ISO9001 & ISO14001 registered
  • To comply with all Company procedures as defined in various documents including the Quality Manual, Staff Manual and Health & Safety Manual
  • Be pro-active in supporting other company activities such as supporting colleagues
  • To maintain good relationships with customers, suppliers and company staff

Qualifications & Experience – Business Development Manager (Automation)

  • Qualified to degree level in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • A minimum of five years' previous experience in a similar role
  • A knowledge of systems integration incorporating Variable Speed Drives, PLCs, Robotics, and SCADA / HMI products, MES / MIS, Simulation, Smart solutions and autonomous mobile applications
  • Proven track record in selling solutions to a variety of industrial applications
  • Have established customer contacts at senior level
