About the Role:

Excell Supply is working with a range of secondary schools across Telford and arecurrently seeking Supply Science Teachers to join our network of educators. This is an exciting opportunity for qualified teachers who are looking for flexible supply work in a dynamic and supportive environment.

As a Supply Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, ensuring that students have the support they need to succeed in their science studies. The role involves managing classroom behaviour, following lesson plans, and adapting teaching methods to meet the needs of the students in your care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (Physics, Chemistry, Biology).
  • Follow lesson plans provided and adapt as necessary to ensure effective learning.
  • Maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Provide support to students of all abilities, helping them to achieve their academic potential.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and school leadership.
  • Follow safeguarding and health and safety policies.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed).
  • Proven experience teaching science at secondary school level.
  • A strong understanding of the national curriculum for science.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to teaching in different school settings.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo a check).

As members of the REC (Recruitment & Employment Confederation) and Umbrella body to the DBS, (Disclosure & Barring Service) Excell Supply is committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children.

All applicants will be subject to thorough employment checks and must have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service certificate in place.

Candidates without an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service will have to apply for a new one.
