The Role

Our client is currently looking for a Multi-Skilled Engineer. The successful candidate should be capable of working with mechanical/electrical systems and to have an understanding of electrical wiring diagrams. My client operates a 4-on-4-off days/nights shift pattern (6:10-18:10/18:10-6:10).

Duties and responsibilities:

  • To handle electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and environmental aspects
  • To oversee installation, maintenance, and commissioning of machinery whilst maintaining a close collaboration with production and other departments.
  • To be able to maintain the cleanliness of site by adhering to routine engineers' toolbox checks.
  • To identify opportunities for improvement in equipment performance and reliability.
  • To develop contingency plans for electrical system failures and to contribute to the development of emergency response procedures.

The Candidate

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering field.
  • Ideally a proven track record in a similar role in food manufacturing/FMCG.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems and automation technology is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations.
  • Exceptional diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices.
