Job Title: Children's Team Leader Location: Telford Salary: £26,000 per annum Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Overview: Claire at Amber Mace is seeking an experienced and dedicated Children's Team Leader to join a passionate team in providing high-quality care and support to young people in a residential setting. As a Team Leader, you will play a key role in leading a team of support workers and ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of children in our care. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people. Key Responsibilities: • Lead, supervise, and support a team of care workers, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring. • Oversee the daily operation of the residential care setting, ensuring high standards of care, safety, and safeguarding. • Ensure the emotional, social, and physical needs of the children are met in a caring and supportive environment. • Develop and maintain individual care plans for each child, in collaboration with social workers, families, and other professionals. • Monitor and report on the progress of young people in care, ensuring their needs are being met and that plans are being followed. • Ensure that the team adheres to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, including safeguarding protocols. • Provide support for the team in the development of personal and professional skills through regular supervision and training. • Manage and update records accurately and within required timescales, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. • Be a positive role model for the children, supporting their growth, independence, and life skills. • Assist in managing challenging behavior and provide effective crisis intervention when required. Essential Criteria: • Level 3 in Children’s Residential Services • Significant experience working within a children’s residential care setting. • Proven experience of supervising or leading a team in a care setting. • A clear understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and the regulatory requirements for children's homes. • Ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with children, families, and external professionals. • Full driving license and access to your own vehicle, as the role may involve travel to various locations. • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.
