Tekla Technician for SFS Projects
Role: Steel Frame System (SFS) Detailer
Location: Telford / Hybrid
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
This is a full-time position based on a 37.5 hr working week. Normal office hours are 8:30-5:30 Mon-Thu, 8:30-1pm Fri. We operate a hybrid working system formed of 2 days based within our Telford office (Mon/Tue) but working from home the remainder of the week. The office is open Wed-Fri for anyone who prefers to work away from home.
Design4Structures is a Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy with a fully integrated construction modelling and detailing team. Civil and Structural Engineers, work alongside CAD Technicians to deliver a more efficient, data driven approach to construction and manufacture. Alongside this, we also function as a sub-contract steelwork detailing office, with a 30 year plus reputation for our high-quality service delivery to industry.
Based in Telford, London, and Greece, we have delivered landmark projects both here in the UK and across the globe, specialising in structural steel, architectural metalwork and offsite markets.
As our offsite division continues to grow, we are looking for a committed Steel Frame System (SFS) Detailer to join the team. The successful applicant, will be part of a friendly and supportive team, managing projects from cradle to grave. You will bring a minimum of 2 years experience working on SFS and light gauge framing projects. Experience using Tekla would be highly advantageous.
You will be technically excellent in your product knowledge of SFS systems, the different suppliers of systems and ancillary products. You will have the capability to advise others of your knowledge, both externally at meetings with clients and internally to your colleagues.
Requirements of the role (but not limited to):
Producing accurately detailed 3D models in Tekla.
Producing all material call off, GA & fabrication drawings, CAM data etc from the Tekla 3D model.
Ability to understand architects, MEP and Structural drawings
Ability to work with a concept and draw into a working detail whilst giving the architect what he requires and at the same time providing a buildable system that is also within budget
Being able to work on multiple projects at once and keeping all clients informed of progress.
Ability to think on your feet when up against deadlines, budget and keeping the customer satisfied.
Ability to deal with short timescales and the pressure of needing results.
