About the Role: As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with severe learning difficulties, helping them achieve their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with severe learning difficulties and SEMH needs.
Work closely with teachers and other staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Assist in managing challenging behavior using de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement strategies.
Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.
Contribute to the planning and delivery of engaging activities tailored to pupils' needs.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs or severe learning difficulties is essential.
A patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
An understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent are desirable but not essential.
