Tara professional are always in need of SEN Teaching Assistants to work within Shropshire SEN Schools as well as Shropshire Primary Schools.


The children and young people are aged 2 to 11 and have a range of learning difficulties. These can include autism, complex medical conditions and physical and mobility difficulties. A number of the young people present behavioural difficulties arising from their condition; many have communication difficulties.


What is the purpose of the role?
The purpose of this role is to assist in interactive learning, promotion of personal development and ensure that the curriculum is achieved for the best possible outcome for the students within the schools. Under the instruction and guidance of the teaching staff, health staff and other professionals, to undertake educational activities and attend to the education, personal and social needs of the students in order to support their learning and development and to ensure their safety.

· Strive for quality of best practice
You should be enthusiastic and committed professional who is flexible and reliable and able to work on your own initiative, with the ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels.


Person Specification:
Essential
· Previous experience either working with Special Educational needs or within the care sector.
· Motivated
· Eligibility to work in the UK
· Ability to meet the physical demands of the post


Desirable
· NVQ level 2 Teaching assistant or Level 2 in health and social care
· Experience in working in an education environment
· Makaton
· Moving & handling trained
