12 Month Contract Technical Author inside IR35 (Apply online only)/DOE
Location: West Midlands, Hybrid (On-site and Remote)

We are hiring for a Technical Author for a new opportunity in technical documentation, delivering Army Equipment Support Publications (AESPs) for armoured land vehicles. This role will see you managing both customer and internal relationships, working closely with engineering and project teams. You'll act as the key point of contact (KPOC) and subject matter expert (SME), responsible for ensuring successful delivery to project specifications.

The role involves working from customer sites in the West Midlands, alongside remote working. Key tasks include scoping and defining work packages, reviewing source information, resolving technical queries, and leading the production team to achieve project KPIs. You'll also work on continuous improvement, developing strategies for operational excellence and supporting new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage technical and operational relationships with customers.
  • Oversee and scope work packages for production.
  • Ensure quality and timely delivery to project milestones.
  • Drive process improvements and support team development.
  • Collaborate with wider teams to propose innovative solutions for business growth.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Extensive experience in technical documentation, ideally in military environments.
  • Knowledge of AESPs, DEFSTAN 00-601 part 4, and STE standards.
  • Familiarity with armoured land vehicles and the defence industry.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • UK nationality with existing SC clearance or eligibility for clearance.
