The Opportunity

We are looking for a dedicated individual to manage the daily operations of all activities and resources at the Sports Facilities. You will ensure the well-being and safety of both staff and customers while upholding the highest standards of service. The role of Casual Duty Officer involves overseeing the operations across three locations:

  • Clacton Leisure Centre
  • Dovercourt Bay Lifestyles
  • Walton on the Naze Lifestyle

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address customer enquiries with a positive and professional approach, fostering excellent customer service.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained to facilitate the smooth running of all scheduled activities and services in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Supervise and manage staff during daily operations to ensure the highest level of performance and service.
  • Act as a key holder, assuming responsibility for the security of all physical resources, including buildings, plant, and equipment.
  • Provide visible leadership to staff, motivating them to deliver high-quality performance and efficiency.
  • Maintain and manage the stock and cleanliness of vending machines, where applicable.
  • Oversee the daily operation of the Pool Plant, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and up-to-date record-keeping. Carry out routine and emergency maintenance of plant and facilities as required.
  • Undertake other specific non-operational duties as directed by the Centre Manager.

Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of GCSE level qualifications or equivalent, including English and Mathematics.
  • A Level 2 or 3 Leadership/Management qualification (or equivalent knowledge gained through experience and development will also be considered).
  • Qualifications required depending on location:
    • RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification or an equivalent accredited qualification.
    • Pool Plant Operators Certificate or a relevant accredited qualification.
