Location: Tewkesbury

An opportunity to join an established and highly skilled Engineering business located in Tewkesbury has arisen. If you're able to programme, set and operate a STAR Sliding head lathe then read on!

The STAR Setter/Operator will run, set and operate multi-axis CNC machines with Fanuc controls. They will be responsible for setting tools and producing components to operator layout sheets as provided. The STAR Setter/Operator will make adjustments to tool offsets and program editing and have the ability to select, set and change tools.

Key Responsibilities – STAR Sliding head machinist

  • Manufacture of components to supplied drawings, encompassing setting and operating multi-axis computer numerically controlled machining centres.
  • Read, interpret and understand engineering drawings, standards, geometrical tolerances and surface finishes.
  • Ability to prove out and inspect First Off components.
  • Conduct Stage Inspections of detailed machined components.
  • Work to the tolerances and dimension of standard drawings.
  • Organize materials and tooling for drawing requirements.
  • Conduct visual quality inspections on own work.
