Role Overview – Strategic Sourcing Lead
Our global aerospace client located in the Wolverhampton area on are the search for an experienced and skilled Strategic Sourcing Lead to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strategic sourcing strategies through market analysis and performance monitoring.
Key Responsibilities – Strategic Sourcing Lead
- Create and implement sourcing strategies across a range of commodity categories.
- Drive make vs buy decisions to enhance procurement efficiency.
- Analyse global market trends to identify sourcing opportunities.
- Oversee and align commodity plans with business objectives and needs.
- Source, evaluate, and develop relationships with key strategic suppliers.
- Establish streamlined supply chains that reduce lead times, improve quality and delivery, and minimize overall costs.
- Handle supplier negotiations and manage long-term partnerships.
- Lead cross-functional teams and contribute to decision-making at all levels of the organization.
Key Qualifications & Experience – Strategic Sourcing Lead
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, business, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in managing complex programs or contracts.
- Proven ability to resolve supply chain challenges.
- Knowledge of problem-solving methodologies, continuous improvement processes, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a deep understanding of procurement and contract laws.
- Exceptional communication abilities in written, verbal, and presentation formats.
- High levels of experience in performing under pressure and time management.
