Product Development Engineer - Manufacturing

Location: Tewkesbury

Fixed term role – 6 months

Our client specialises in the design, creation and testing of bespoke aerospace components. They are searching for a skilled engineer to join the product development team based on-site in Tewkesbury on a fixed term contract. You will be working on projects to develop commercial and military aircraft hydraulic components, typically used in flight control and engine control applications.

The ideal candidate for the Product Development Engineer role would have:

  • An understanding of mechanical and hydraulic principles, with a basic understanding of
  • electrical theory and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Experience of performing process FMEAs, developing mitigation actions, and working with
  • complementing functions to see actions to closure.
  • Experience identifying tooling requirements. Ability to work collaboratively with complementing functions (e.g. Design, A&T, Manufacturing, Supply Chain) to support the design, development, and procurement of tooling.
  • Experience writing Assembly Instructions and Production Worksheets. A high level of Microsoft
  • Word competency to support these activities. Templates of report structures and examples are
  • provided.
  • Highly self-motivated and autonomous mindset is required for this role with strong communication
  • skills. The role requires active face-to-face communication with individuals across the business.
  • Ability to plan and schedule tasks against fixed deadlines.
