About the Role:
My client is looking for a skilled Freelance Site Manager with a strong background in clean water infrastructure and civil engineering to lead a series of crucial maintenance projects for Seven Trent. This role involves working on various clean water infrastructure improvements, including the installation and renewal of pump stations, pipe replacements, drainage systems, and retaining walls.
As Site Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing and managing all on-site operations, from project initiation to completion, while ensuring that safety, quality, and environmental standards are met at every stage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination: Lead and manage daily site activities, ensuring all tasks are executed in line with project timelines, budget, and quality expectations.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate on-site teams, including subcontractors, to maintain high productivity and safety standards.
- Quality Control: Oversee the installation and renewal of critical infrastructure, ensuring high standards of workmanship across all project elements.
- Safety Compliance: Conduct regular site inspections and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
- Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and the project team to align on project objectives, progress, and any challenges.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain detailed site records, including progress reports, safety documentation, and quality assurance files to support smooth project delivery.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience: Proven track record in clean water projects and civil engineering (minimum of 3-5 years preferred), especially within maintenance and infrastructure renewal.
- Certifications:
- Valid Water Hygiene Card (essential for working in clean water environments)
- Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor certification
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification
- Skills and Competencies: Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving abilities; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility and Travel: Must be willing and able to travel regularly to various sites across Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.
Desirable Skills:
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, especially related to clean water infrastructure.
- Health and Safety Expertise: Familiarity with environmental and health regulations related to water projects.
- IT Skills: Comfortable with software for project tracking, scheduling, and reporting (e.g., Microsoft Project or similar tools).
