Our Client:

Our client provides precision component and engineering solutions across various sectors from Aerospace and defence, to nuclear and commercial sectors providing the highest industry standards and compliance.

They're looking for a Team Leader to join their business overseeing the Quality Inspection unit to be responsible for the workflow throughout the department.

Your Role:

The role of the Quality Inspection Team Leader will supervise the Quality Inspectors. This individual will be highly competent to train those in their department, interpret engineering drawings for inspection purpose using CMM's as required.

The Inspection Team Leaders main responsibilities will be:

  • Ability to manage workflow and prioritize tasks effectively within the department.
  • Providing proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Oversee and support the Quality Inspectors who will be operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and other metrology tools (e.g., calipers, gauges, micrometers) for inspection purposes
  • Oversee FAIRS process
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and convey complex technical information clearly.

Quality Engineer requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve inspection related issues
  • Ability to competently read and understand manufacturing drawing requirements including geometric tolerances
  • Highly competent and experienced gauge and CMM inspector
  • Ability to lead a small team and provide workflow direction
  • History of Generating PPQP and FAI reports
  • CMM Programming Skills is desirable (Software - Aberlink)
  • Ability to Identify and record non conformances
