You will have a passion for and be eager to learn new skills and seek development opportunities in the course of your employment. You will have a strong electronics or electrical background, and you will be required to carry out a range of wiring and assembly duties. A strong attention to detail is a very important aspect of this role.

Please note that this role will be subject to Security Clearance. As such, factors including your nationality, previous nationalities that you may have held, and your place of birth may affect your eligibility to apply for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands on wiring of equipment and control panels
  • Assemble wiring harnesses / looms from wiring schedules / electrical schematics
  • Complete wiring of and installation of a variety of electronic and electro-mechanical components from mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Ensure wiring looms and associated cabling are assembled / installed to the relevant quality standard
  • Report design or material non-conformances
  • Mark up drawings for design updates following prototype builds
  • Undertake Quality checks, inspections and record findings of completed wiring
  • Testing of completed wiring / sub-assemblies for functionality and troubleshooting any issues
  • Interpret electrical schematics and technical documents to plan / document wiring layouts
  • Using any appropriate test equipment such as digital multi-meters etc.
  • Comply with Company policies and procedures concerning safety, environment, Quality and record keeping requirements.


Key Competencies:

  • Familiarity with a wide range of connector and cable types, both industrial and military
  • Preparation of cables and wires prior to crimping or soldering
  • Carry out soldering of connectors / cabling to a high standard
  • Operating hand crimp tools and carrying out pull tests on crimped terminals
  • Familiarity with a wide range of electrical / electronic components
  • Good comprehension of manufacturing drawings, wiring schedules and wiring diagrams / schematics
  • Conversant with different wire gauges and types
  • Conversant with methods for numbering and identifying wires
  • High level of attention to detail to ensure accurate wiring and assembly of systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues during testing
  • Proficient using various hand tools to complete installation work
  • Ability to accurately follow build instructions
  • Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide feedback / updates on progress
  • Prior experience building wiring harnesses / looms
  • Prior experience in assembling and wiring electronic equipment and control panels
  • Experience reading and interpreting wiring diagrams / electrical schematics / wiring schedules
  • Broad knowledge of different connector and cable types
  • Knowledge of electrical / electronic and computer components
  • Appreciation of wiring standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and report on progress / provide feedback
  • Good understanding of electrical safety procedures and protocols
