Our lifestyle client is looking to recruit a Garment Technologist.

Ideally the successful candidate will have at least 3 years; experience in a garment development. The role is very hands on covering all elements of product development from initial spec / Proto development to production and shipment approvals.

The role will be focused on clothing however some experience in accessories and even footwear / homeware would be useful but not a prerequisite.

Responsibilities:

To establish and implement quality standards internally and externally for area of responsibility.

Ensure the development and production critical paths are managed to deliver in line with sign offs and launch dates. Work closely with Buying and Design to resolve issues before garments proceed to production.

Work closely with suppliers to ensure problems which arise during manufacturing are resolved to minimise delays /quality issues.

Support team with corrective action to factories for any issue raised in shipment sample approval.

Maintaining continuity of quality standards with minimal risk to delivery date.

Provide final sign off for bulk shipments to leave upon approval.

Measure and report supplier quality and efficiency performance.

Improving fit of garments by advising factory any required garment pattern changes.

Maintain the size specification and grading and improve any issues which arise during fit sessions with relevant Buying Team or received as customer feedback.

Develop new garment blocks/specifications as required Support Buying and Design throughout the product development cycle and support in managing the critical path.

Working with the wider team maintain information held for each factory to ensure compliance is continually met and improved.

Ensure all factory audits are up to date and work with external auditors to ensure corrective action plans are followed up and completed within the allocated time frame.
